Now that the dust has settled in Connecticut, I hope that the blogosphere will consider tuning into an equally important race in Hawaii.
Senator Daniel Akaka is running for re-election in a contested primary against Blue Dog Ed Case. Akaka has opposed the Iraq War, the Patriot Act, and Bush's tax policies. Most recently, Akaka joined with Kerry-Feingold-Boxer to support the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Case has joined the Bush Administration on all of these issues, and he has now announced that he will support Joe Lieberman's run as an independent in Connecticut.
Today, Senator Akaka made it clear that he will support Ned Lamont who he has proclaimed, "the People's Choice." I'm not sure things could be much clearer, but we hope you'll tune in for our September 23 primary.
